About The Position

First State Bank and Trust is seeking a daytime, part-time Teller in Monticello, Illinois. The Teller is an essential member of the team and represents the bank in the communities it serves. The position is responsible for accurately processing customer transactions, building relationships, and educating customers about bank products and services. The role supports both the drive-up and lobby teller lines. Shifts are 9:00 to 2:00 on Monday and Friday and 10:00 to 3:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The position may be filled by multiple applicants, depending on availability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Availability to work the listed shifts.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine transactions within established guidelines, including cashing checks, accepting deposits, processing withdrawals, and handling loan payments.
• Count, verify, and handle cash during transactions and balancing procedures while following internal controls and security protocols.
• Provide customer service by greeting customers, listening to their needs, responding to inquiries, and handling complaints or concerns.
• Educate customers about savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and other products and services.
• Cross-sell relevant banking products based on customer profiles.
• Safeguard customers’ personal information and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the bank.
• Remain alert to potential fraud and take necessary precautions.
