About The Position

This role independently prepares, fries, packages, displays, and stocks deli and/or bakery products while contributing to the store’s financial performance. The associate is responsible for meeting company expectations for guest experience, safety, and food safety. The work takes place in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and possible exposure to outside weather conditions. Travel requirements vary by assignment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Basic mathematical skills.
Detail-oriented.
May need to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and may need to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

Responsibilities

Prepare and produce bakery/deli products according to the production planner.
Package and label bakery/deli products according to the program plan.
Merchandise bakery/deli products according to the flight plan and merchandising expectations.
Stock the backroom with bakery/deli products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
Work with other departments and stores to help achieve growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
Notify the Bakery/Deli Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
Communicate completed tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps to other associates.
Follow personal protective equipment and safety guidelines.
Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
Follow guest experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments as needed to meet customer experience needs.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
