About The Position

The Bakery Clerk helps keep the bakery department running smoothly by preparing and replenishing products, assisting customers at the bakery counter, and contributing to a warm, welcoming customer experience. The role involves working with a team in a busy store bakery environment. No prior experience is required; training and support are provided.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills, including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Ability to communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep pace in a busy bakery environment.
Ability to frequently stand and walk throughout a shift.
Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service.
Help customers find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and place orders at the bakery counter.
Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels.
Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods, including pulling products from the cooler or freezer for baking.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
Check in and put away products, and review invoices as needed.
Operate the department register to process payments where applicable.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
Follow the company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
