About The Position

The Bakery Clerk proofs and bakes unfinished bakery goods according to product handling information, using ovens and other equipment. The role unpacks frozen bakery goods, prepares products for display using production charts, packages baked items, decorates special orders or case products, and helps customers with bakery questions and orders. The clerk receives and stores shipments, checks product freshness and pricing, and follows food safety, handling, cleaning, and workplace safety procedures. The position also supports club standards, member service, and other departments as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions about bakery items, respond to member calls, and take special orders.
• Proof and bake unfinished bakery goods according to product handling information, using ovens and other equipment.
• Use bakery production charts to guide production and display quantities.
• Gather products for preparation for the next business day.
• Package freshly baked goods, including cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, and cakes.
• Unpack frozen bakery goods and display appropriate quantities.
• Decorate special-order or case products.
• Rotate and store bakery products according to food safety, freshness, and product-handling procedures.
• Receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check for out-of-date products and follow salvage and stale-product procedures.
• Generate labels and price tickets, perform price checks when needed, and ensure items are accurately priced.
• Clean and sanitize bakery equipment, display fixtures, and food surfaces.
• Operate and handle bakery equipment according to safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain club policies and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, and full attendance.
• Support club policies, compliance, safe and positive environments, teamwork, inclusion, and member service standards.
