About The Position

The Bakery Clerk-Wrapper provides excellent customer service and supports the bakery’s daily operations. The role includes learning product knowledge, rotating and merchandising products, controlling shrink, maintaining product quality, and working safely. The clerk packages and labels products according to company standards, performs basic baking duties, and helps keep the department stocked and clean. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Position requirements may vary by store location, and Niemann Foods Management may add to or change requirements.

Requirements

No education or experience is required.

High energy level and ability to prioritize and multitask.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Food Handler’s Certification as required by state law; provided at store level.
Ability to meet the physical demands described, including regularly standing, walking, handling items, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, communicating, and lifting or moving up to 15 pounds; frequently overhead lifting, climbing, balancing, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds; and occasionally sitting, crawling, smelling, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, adjusting focus, and distinguishing colors.

Responsibilities

Deliver superior guest service and ensure customer satisfaction.
Use bakery equipment properly and understand the use and taste of products offered.
Conduct quality assurance checks of the department.
Handle and rotate products properly.
Follow daily operational procedures to maintain stock levels, inventory, and cleanliness.
Promote sales and offer samples.
Package and label products according to NFI standards.
Perform basic baking duties.
Clean floors, ovens, and counters, and wash dishes.
Work within company programs, policies, and procedures.
Follow Health Code guidelines and store and department policies and procedures.
Follow safety policies and procedures and serve as a safety role model.
Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
