About The Position

The Bakery Clerk proofs and bakes unfinished bakery goods according to product handling information, using ovens and other equipment. The role unpacks frozen bakery goods, prepares and displays products in amounts guided by production charts, packages freshly baked items, and decorates special-order or display-case products. It also supports member service by answering questions, recommending bakery items, taking calls and special orders, and maintaining bakery inventory, pricing, freshness, cleanliness, and food safety. The position may include performing other duties or working in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and recommend bakery items; answer Member calls and take special orders.
• Proof and bake unfinished bakery goods according to product handling information using ovens and other equipment.
• Use bakery production charts to guide production and display quantities.
• Gather products for preparation for the next business day.
• Package freshly baked goods, including cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, and cakes.
• Unpack bakery goods from the freezer and display appropriate quantities based on production chart recommendations.
• Decorate special-order or display-case products.
• Rotate and store bakery products according to food safety, freshness, and product handling policies and procedures.
• Receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check for out-of-date products and follow salvage and stale product procedures.
• Generate labels and price tickets, perform price checks when necessary, and ensure items are accurately priced.
• Clean and sanitize bakery equipment, display fixtures, and food surfaces, including ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, display racks, and tables.
• Operate and handle bakery equipment according to safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support their application and compliance.
• Deliver service excellence, address and deescalate member concerns, and help maintain a safe, positive environment.
• Work with the team to meet daily GOLD member and club standards, including stocking, promotional execution, accurate signage, and cleanliness.
• Access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department and understand how consistent execution affects the business.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
