About The Position

The Bakery Associate delivers best-in-class customer service to guests at the bakery counter and on the sales floor. The role packages, prices, and labels bakery products, keeps shelves stocked and rotated, and maintains a clean, well-organized department. Associates answer questions about bakery products and ingredients, assist customers with selections and suggestions, and take and fulfill orders by phone and in person. They may also assist bakers with preparing products for baking and help train and mentor new bakery associates.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old due to required operation of bakery equipment.
Eagerness to interact with customers.
Strong sense of teamwork and ability to anticipate the needs of the team.
Ability to work at a fast pace and efficiently.
Ability to take initiative and make independent decisions about department needs and priorities under general supervision.
Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and push or pull for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Serve bakery customers by greeting, engaging, assisting, and thanking each guest while modeling Sendik’s customer-service culture.
Answer questions about bakery products and ingredients and suggest products to customers.
Fill and maintain the bakery case.
Package, price, and label items for the sales floor.
Stock and rotate bakery products on the sales floor.
Take and fulfill bakery orders by phone and in person.
Complete daily cleaning duties in the Bakery Department.
Assist bakers with pouring batter, panning bakery items, and preparing products for baking as needed.
Assist with training and mentoring new Bakery Department associates.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety and sanitation regulations and procedures.
Assist with other Bakery Department duties as needed.
