About The Position

The Bakery Associate works independently to prepare, fry, package, display, and stock bakery products while contributing to the financial best interest of the store. The role includes following company guidelines for guest experience, safety, food safety, and cleaning. Associates may also be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs. The position is located at 575 E. Jackson, Elkhart, Indiana 46516.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Detail oriented.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

Responsibilities

Prepare and produce bakery products according to the production planner.
Package and label bakery products according to the program plan.
Merchandise bakery products according to the flight plan and merchandising expectations.
Stock the backroom with bakery products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
Notify the Bakery Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
Work as a team with other departments and stores to support growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
Communicate completed tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps to other associates.
Follow personal protective equipment and safety guidelines.
Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
Follow guest experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer experience needs.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
