About The Position

This role is responsible for independently preparing, frying, packaging, displaying, and stocking bakery products while contributing to the store’s financial interests. The associate is expected to meet company standards for guest experience, safety, and food safety. The position is based at 3960 44th St SW, Grandville, Michigan 49418. Travel requirements vary by assignment. The work takes place in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions; noise is usually low to moderate.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Detail-oriented.
May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

Responsibilities

Prepare and produce bakery products according to the production planner.
Package and label bakery products according to the program plan.
Merchandise bakery products according to the flight plan and merchandising expectations.
Stock the backroom with bakery products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
Notify the Bakery Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
Work with other departments and stores to support growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
Communicate completed tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps to other associates.
Follow personal protective equipment and safety guidelines.
Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
Follow guest experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments as needed to meet customer experience needs.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
