About The Position

Assist the Assistant Pastry Chef in preparing pastry presentations for restaurants and banquet use. The Baker decorates and finishes cakes and pastries according to house specifications, uses pastry shop equipment, and maintains the workstation in compliance with State and Local Health Department codes. The role also includes reporting violations and malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Pastry Chef and performing other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Nice To Haves

• Culinary school education is preferred.
• Two years of experience in a large hotel pastry department is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decorate and finish all cakes and pastries according to house specifications.
• Understand and use all equipment in the Pastry Shop.
• Maintain the workstation in compliance with State and Local Health Department codes.
• Report violations and malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Pastry Chef.
• Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned.
