About The Position
As a Baker at Mandalay Bay, you will follow recipes and yield guides while helping create memorable guest experiences through welcoming, attentive service. The role includes preparing dishes, assisting with cake and pastry decorating, and maintaining menu knowledge and attention to detail in presentation. You will keep assigned work areas clean, sanitary, and organized; process and place requisitions; label and date products; set up and break down work stations; and restock kitchen supplies and food items. You will also communicate with and assist management, chefs, and service staff to address requests and needs from guests and employees. The starting rate is $24.5764 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of prior relevant baking experience.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in a similar resort setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare dishes and follow recipes and yield guides.
- Assist in decorating cakes and pastries.
- Maintain menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Ensure requisitions are processed properly and placed in the designated area.
- Label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
- Set up and break down the work station.
- Run for food and restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service.
- Communicate with, direct, and assist management, chefs, and service staff to address guest and employee requests or needs.
