About The Position

The Bagger packs customers’ grocery items carefully and efficiently, provides friendly and courteous service, helps load groceries, collects carts, and supports cleanliness and organization at the front end. The role contributes to a positive and helpful shopping experience. The employee may also provide backup support to other departments and perform other duties assigned by a supervisor. The position requires adherence to company and applicable local and federal safety, security, environmental, and occupational health rules. Requirements

Must pass an oral reading test.
Able to read and speak in English.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and customers.
Able to uphold the company’s mission statement.
Valid Health Certificate.
Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Comfortable working in warm and cold environments.
Able to talk, hear, and respond to customers and employees.
Able to perform tasks involving standing, handling or feeling items, reaching, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Pack grocery items carefully according to item type, weight, customer preference, and company standards.
Place groceries in customers’ carts and escort them to their vehicles when needed.
Collect and return shopping carts from parking areas.
Answer customer questions and direct customers to product locations or appropriate staff.
Verify item pricing when requested and communicate clearly with the cashier.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in checkout areas and front-end stations.
Take out trash, restock front-end supplies, and regularly sanitize high-touch areas.
Provide backup support to other departments, such as stocking shelves or unloading deliveries, as directed.
Provide courteous, attentive, and professional customer service.
Follow store safety procedures and loss prevention guidelines.
Assist with monthly and fiscal inventory.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Follow applicable safety and environmental codes, company and local safety plans, worksite safety rules, and participate in required or available safety training.
Report unsafe conditions or accidents to a supervisor.
