About The Position

Kraft Heinz is hiring a Bag Prep operator at its Cedar Rapids facility. The role requires a highly skilled and flexible operator who can work in multiple positions as needed and has solid knowledge of bag preparation, spices, hand pre-weighing, and product requirements. The operator identifies concerns related to ingredient quality, allergen labeling, and cleaning or changeovers. The position is on the third shift, from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., at the Kraft Heinz plant at 4601 C Street SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The facility is a three-shift, non-union operation with approximately 200 hourly employees, including temporary and full-time associates. It produces frozen soups and macaroni and cheese. Employees are responsible for following food safety policies, safety procedures, and Q-RMP standards, and for ensuring quality products are packaged.

Responsibilities

Weigh raw ingredients according to recipes.
Organize ingredients according to recipes by placing them in barrels, drums, or other containers.
Perform accurate, scheduled inventory checks on ingredients.
Stage materials according to recipes.
Complete paperwork and IQS entries.
Cover staged ingredients.
Place a recipe tag on barrels or carts when a recipe is complete.
Clean and sanitize the work area.
Help with other recipes as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Assemble or change over equipment as assigned.
Verify product quality, item numbers, and weights.
Follow required safe work practices, including PPE and JSA requirements.
Follow food safety policies, safety procedures, and Q-RMP standards.
Ensure quality products are packaged.
