About The Position

Under minimal direction, the Bag Jammer responds to and corrects fault conditions within the baggage handling system (BHS). The role assists in clearing jams and supports technicians and other personnel with basic maintenance tasks, including sweeping, cleaning, and greasing. The position works in all areas located on airport property and requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to remain insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.
• Ability to comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
• Basic computer knowledge, including logging in, retrieving and answering emails, and completing training.
• Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions; use reasoning to solve problems; and make sound decisions using available information.
• Ability to address customer needs while following company procedures and build effective relationships with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to demonstrate conduct consistent with accepted values and standards, and to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
• Ability to focus on goals, stay organized or follow systematic work methods, obtain resources, and complete assigned training in a timely manner.

• Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, handle or finger objects, reach outward, climb or balance, and lift, carry, push, or pull loads up to 50 pounds; occasional requirements include sitting, reaching above the shoulder, crawling, squatting or stooping, bending or kneeling, and handling loads over 50 pounds.
• Near and distance vision and hearing.
