About The Position

Under minimal direction, the Bag Jammer responds to and corrects fault conditions within the baggage handling system (BHS). The position assists in clearing jams and supports technicians or other personnel with basic maintenance tasks, including sweeping, cleaning, and greasing. The employee must complete assigned safety training and comply with all ELS safety programs, policies, and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.
• Must be able to comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
• Basic computer knowledge, including the ability to log in, retrieve and answer emails, and complete training.
• Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions; use reasoning to solve problems; and make sound decisions using available information.
• Ability to address customer needs while following company procedures, communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing, and build effective relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to demonstrate conduct conforming to accepted values and standards, be truthful and credible, and work well with people of varied backgrounds and personalities.
• Ability to focus on goals, stay organized or follow systematic methods, obtain resources to complete assignments, and identify and correct conditions affecting employee safety.
• Ability to work under pressure with time constraints and complete assigned training in a timely manner.
