About The Position

The Bag Handler loads bags of soiled linen onto rail and conveyor systems so sort/count workstations can process them, and assists those workstations as needed. The role transfers soiled-linen slings or carts to the washroom and clean-linen slings or carts to the Flatwork area. The Bag Handler may also clean empty carts and perform other production tasks as needed.

The position works in production areas of an industrial laundry facility, where conditions may include temperature variations, odors, humidity, lint, and dust. Soiled linens come from varied customers, including restaurants, hotels, medical facilities, and shops. Travel is not required. Education is not required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of drug screening.

Requirements

• Recognize colors and sizes and count accurately.
• Recognize different products.
• Comprehend and follow directions.
• Meet the physical requirements of the job and physical demands for the entire shift.
• Stand, walk, reach overhead, push, pull, grasp, see, hear, stoop, and constantly lift up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions as directed by supervision.
