About The Position

The Backup and DR Engineer will be responsible for the administration and operation of enterprise-grade backup, restore, and Disaster Recovery (DR) products and solutions. This role involves managing backup and restore activities, troubleshooting related issues, performance tuning, capacity planning, and patch management. The engineer will also be responsible for monitoring, analyzing alerts, and implementing best practices and security standards. Additionally, the position requires updating technical documentation, coordinating with IT teams, and participating in project-related activities. The role is based at Frontex Headquarters in Warsaw, with a hybrid work model (70% on-site, 30% remote) and a duration of 48 months. A RESTREINT UE/EU RESTRICTED security clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of IT relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in relevant/similar IT roles.
  • Experience in administration of enterprise-grade backup, restore and Disaster Recovery products.
  • Experience integrating backup, restore and DR products with virtual infrastructure.
  • Experience in backup and restore operations in on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience in data replication technologies.
  • Proven experience in Disaster Recovery services.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple IT and support teams.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL-based change, configuration and release management processes.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Proactive attitude with strong team-working spirit and user orientation.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies and environments.
  • Minimum Level of education: Level 6.
  • English language skills (CEFR): B2.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience with backup of Red Hat OpenShift and container-based environments.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft 365 backup solutions.
  • Experience with Zerto replication.
  • Commvault or Veeam certification.
