About The Position

The Back Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of industrial systems and equipment associated with the industrial disposal process. The role performs operational tasks, inspections, equipment checks, troubleshooting, and lock-out/tag-out activities in support of facility operations and maintenance teams. The position requires working a rotating shift schedule and operating heavy industrial equipment.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
• Ability to work consistently in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned operational tasks and inspections using designated industrial equipment and hand and power tools.
• Complete routine inspections of assigned equipment and document details according to facility procedures.
• Troubleshoot assigned equipment and report issues and repair requests using defined work order processes and procedures.
• Use weekly activity books and critical items checklists to perform operational and equipment-related function checks.
• Safely perform lock-out/tag-out processes on equipment in support of assigned maintenance teams.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
