Back-End Collision Estimator - No Weekends
About The Position
CARSTAR Murray’s in Des Moines, Washington, is hiring a Back-End Estimator to develop repair plans alongside technicians during teardown, prepare accurate supplements, and keep repair jobs moving through a high-volume collision repair shop. The role includes working at a Tesla-certified repair center and collaborating with technicians, insurance adjusters, and occasionally customers. The position offers base pay of $22–$25 per hour based on experience, plus bonus potential; the posting also describes total earnings of approximately $30–$45 per hour, or roughly $62,000–$94,000 annually. The schedule includes no weekends, with either a 4x10 schedule or a Monday-through-Thursday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule and Friday 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Benefits begin after 90 days. Murray’s Collision Group is a family-owned business serving the Puget Sound since 1984, operating CARSTAR and Fix Auto shops in the region with centralized support for its shops.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a collision estimator or insurance appraiser.
- Damage analysis experience, including hybrid systems, electrical components, and structural damage.
- Experience with CCC ONE or a similar collision estimating system.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.

Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles with technicians during DFR to capture all damage.
- Build accurate estimates, supplements, and repair plans in CCC ONE.
- Communicate with insurance adjusters, and occasionally customers, about repair progress.
- Source and document all parts needed for repairs.
- Assign labor to technicians and ensure they follow proper repair procedures.
- Keep repair orders and notes current as vehicles move through the shop.
- Follow insurance and DRP guidelines.
- Participate in daily production and release meetings.
