About The Position

The Autos Cashier is part of a retail sales team responsible for providing excellent customer care and promoting sales and service. The role requires a proactive selling approach, teamwork and individual contribution toward store sales goals, and adherence to Pick-n-Pull policies and procedures. The position may offer opportunities to advance to Parts Specialist and Retail Sales Lead by building product knowledge, demonstrating a strong work ethic, and maintaining positive performance evaluations. The Autos Cashier is scheduled during peak customer traffic, which may include weekends, sale days, holidays, and other high-traffic occasions. The role works indoors and outdoors in an auto salvage yard, where conditions may include variable weather, dust, automotive fluids, and noise. The position requires compliance with safety protocols and consistent, proper use of assigned personal protective equipment. The position offers competitive pay and benefits, including medical, dental, and vision plans for the employee and dependents, a 401(k) with company match, and paid time off starting with the first paycheck. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Employment offers are contingent on a satisfactory post-offer drug screen and background check, and new hires must review and sign an Arbitration Agreement.

Requirements

Customer service experience, or the ability and aptitude to perform effectively in customer-facing roles.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
Ability to work at any nearby store location assigned by management.
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, and lift up to 40 pounds; perform manual tasks; and remain on one's feet for the entire shift.
Sufficient vision to perform job functions safely and effectively.

Nice To Haves

Experience handling customer payments using multiple payment methods.
Fluency in Spanish.
Familiarity with automotive parts, including recognizing parts and understanding basic product details.

Responsibilities

Work safely, promote the Pick-n-Pull Safety Culture, follow safety requirements, collaborate with a safety buddy, and wear assigned PPE as required.
Work collaboratively with the team to achieve individual and shared goals and desired results.
Welcome customers promptly and proactively engage with them to provide assistance.
Complete sales training, apply the Pick-n-Pull 5 Step Sales Model, and continue developing skills through ongoing training across the business.
Follow loss prevention, risk management, quality assurance, and cash-handling guidelines.
Identify customer situations requiring leadership support and promptly involve a manager.
Support store operations by completing housekeeping, janitorial, and other assigned duties, which may include cleaning tires, carrying batteries, and mopping floors.
Maintain integrity in every interaction and transaction.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
