About The Position

Carvana is hiring an experienced Automotive Technician to perform a full range of repairs and diagnostics on vehicles at a high-tech Inspection Center. Work includes general and complex repairs across makes and models, advanced electrical diagnosis and repair—including electric and hybrid vehicles—and repairs to wheel bearings, axles, and climate control systems. Carvana describes its Inspection Centers as places where vehicles are inspected, repaired, and photographed before being listed for customers. The role is presented as a first-shift position and offers a $6,000 bonus for A-level technicians. The stated pay range is $22.00–$32.50 per hour. The job is in a fast-paced, changing production environment and may involve exposure to hot or cold weather. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs. Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check, and the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 3 years of professional automotive repair experience.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment, sometimes with exposure to excessive heat or cold.
Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must pass a complete background check.
Must be able to work mandatory overtime based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Perform general and complex automotive repairs on all makes and models, including timing belts, suspension systems, and heavy engine work.
Diagnose and repair advanced vehicle electrical issues, including on electric and hybrid vehicles.
Repair wheel bearings and axles.
Repair vehicle climate control systems, including air conditioning and heater cores.
Work in a production environment to help prepare vehicles for customers.
