About The Position

Carvana is hiring an experienced automotive technician to work in a vehicle Reconditioning Center. The technician will perform a full range of repairs and diagnostics on vehicles of all makes and models, from light maintenance to complex repairs and heavy engine work. The role includes diagnosing and repairing advanced electrical problems, including on electric and hybrid vehicles, and repairing wheel bearings, axles, and climate-control systems such as air conditioning and heater cores. Employees use state-of-the-art tools in a high-tech Inspection Center. The posting also describes training programs for entry-level employees, though this position requires at least three years of professional automotive repair experience. The schedule may require mandatory overtime when business needs demand it. The work takes place in a fast-paced production environment and may involve exposure to hot or cold weather and the use of protective equipment. Hiring is contingent on passing a background check. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 3 years of professional automotive repair experience.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, sometimes with exposure to excessive heat or cold.
Ability to use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must pass a complete background check.
Must be able to work mandatory overtime based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Perform general to complex repairs on all makes and models, including timing belts, suspension systems, and heavy engine work.
Diagnose and repair advanced vehicle electrical issues, including issues involving electric and hybrid vehicles.
Repair wheel bearings and axles.
Repair vehicle climate-control systems, including air conditioning and heater cores.
Work mandatory overtime when required by business needs.
