About The Position

The Automotive Service Technician performs vehicle repairs and maintenance in a dealership shop, completing work according to repair orders and dealership standards. The role includes diagnosing and testing vehicles and systems with diagnostic tools and special service equipment, communicating with Service Advisors about additional service needs, estimating repair time, and completing warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.

The dealership offers a learning environment with continued education and hands-on training in its main shop. The shop is air-conditioned, equipped with the newest technology, and described as clean and professional. Career advancement and promotion from within are available.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and a clean, satisfactory driving record.
• Positive, friendly attitude and a customer-service mentality.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications.
• Willingness to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

• ASE certification preferred.
• Previous experience at an automotive dealership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor so customers are informed when additional service is needed.
• Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs.
• Perform warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.
