About The Position

Napleton Ford of Columbus is seeking an Automotive Sales Consultant to join their team. This role involves assisting customers in finding the right vehicle, guiding them through the entire sales process from initial contact to vehicle handover. Responsibilities include working leads, greeting walk-ins, demonstrating vehicles, presenting pricing and payment options, and following up with potential customers. Previous automotive sales experience is not required, as the company provides training. The ideal candidate is trustworthy, follows through on commitments, and is motivated by performance-based pay.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and a genuine willingness to talk to strangers.

  • Basic computer and smartphone proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Availability to work a retail schedule including Saturdays.
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment screening.

  • Previous automotive sales experience.
  • Commissioned sales, retail, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service background.
  • Familiarity with trucks, trailers, towing, agriculture, or construction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and qualify walk-in traffic to understand customer needs.
  • Respond promptly to internet leads and phone inquiries.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and test drives.
  • Clearly and honestly present pricing, payment options, and trade-in values.
  • Ask for the sale, handle objections, and close deals.
  • Maintain consistent contact with unsold prospects.
  • Stay in touch with past customers for referrals, service, and repeat business.
  • Log all interactions in the CRM system.
  • Learn the Ford lineup in depth, including specific details relevant to truck buyers.
  • Understand Transit and commercial vehicle basics, as well as Ford Pro fleet programs.
  • Complete Ford manufacturer certification training.
  • Stay current on new and pre-owned inventory and available incentives.
  • Coordinate with the finance team and management on deal structure.
  • Perform thorough vehicle deliveries, including setting up FordPass and pairing phones.
  • Follow up post-sale to ensure customer satisfaction and earn good survey scores.
  • Represent the store professionally within the community.
