About The Position

Big Star Dodge, a Ken Garff Automotive Dealership, is seeking a Parts Front Counter Sales Associate who aligns with its values of respect, intelligence, greatness, honesty, and teamwork. The role supports customers and dealership operations by handling parts-related complaints, promoting branded parts, coordinating department workflows, maintaining accurate inventory and computer records, and supporting billing, warranty, and account processes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand job-related instructions and information in electronic or paper form.
• Ability to address problems creatively and logically while expressing empathy for customers.
• Ability to move about the parts department and use a computer.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting over 50 pounds.
• Valid in-state driver's license and a good driving record, according to company standards.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of experience in an automotive parts department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer complaints about parts tactfully and promptly, with genuine concern and in accordance with dealership guidelines.
• Encourage the sale of branded parts.
• Improve the efficiency of customer and Parts Department interactions and transactions.
• Establish processes that ensure inventory matches computer records.
• Refresh accessory displays and coordinate with the Sales Manager to ensure an accessory vehicle is available.
• Monitor Parts Department workflow and intervene as needed to ensure timely completion and meet technician needs.
• Make warranty and billing adjustments.
• Monitor backorders daily and ensure deliveries are shipped and received as quickly as possible.
• Ensure dealership purchases are properly accounted for before payment.
• Ensure parts are properly tagged so the dealership receives full factory credit.
• Assist with collecting overdue accounts.
• Notify special-order customers when their parts arrive.
