Automotive Manager in Training/General Service Technician
About The Position
Midas is seeking an Automotive Manager in Training/General Service Technician for a developmental Store Manager role. The position supports the Store Manager and works in both the front and back shop as needed, handling basic service and sales while training to answer calls, schedule appointments, and interact with customers. Midas provides training and promotes from within. The role combines customer service, service writing, oversight of vehicle inspections and repairs, inventory and facility upkeep, and basic technician work such as oil changes and tire rotations. Compensation includes hourly base pay, overtime, and performance-based bonuses and commissions.

Nice To Haves
- A minimum of 2 years of store or service manager experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service by listening to and consulting with customers.
- Follow up with customers about requested services and estimated completion times.
- Oversee complete vehicle inspections, make comprehensive service recommendations, build computerized repair orders, and source parts.
- Deliver and discuss pricing estimates and promote shop service specials.
- Oversee technicians’ inspections, diagnosis, and repairs of domestic, European, and Asian cars and light trucks.
- Maintain inventory counts.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the facility.
- Perform oil changes, tire rotations, and basic technician jobs.
- Train to handle phone calls, set appointments, and interact with customers.
- Work in both the front and back shop as needed and support the Store Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
