Automotive Finance (F&I) Consultant

KPA•San Jose, CA
•$85,000 - $95,000•Remote

About The Position

KPA is hiring a Finance & Insurance Consultant to help automotive dealership clients minimize risk and increase profitability. The consultant builds and maintains client relationships and demonstrates industry and regulatory knowledge through onsite field audits, deal jacket reviews, employee training, and regulatory interaction. The role is intended for someone with dealership F&I experience who wants to remain involved in the automotive industry while supporting dealerships’ compliance efforts. This is a remote position based out of a home office in the San Francisco area, serving Fremont, San Jose, and Berkeley. It involves frequent visits to dealerships, day-to-day driving, and some overnight and air travel. Client assignments and visit locations may change, and coverage of other regions may be expected. During the first 60 days, the consultant shadows current consultants, learns KPA’s Sales and Finance Compliance Audit process and Vera Suite system, attends product meetings and webinars, takes over a customer-service base, and completes orientation and F&I compliance testing. Within six months, the consultant is expected to conduct onsite audits and employee training, organize client visits efficiently, and assist with or prepare compliance documentation. By the end of the first year, the consultant will help implement compliance systems, submit 20 referrals or sales leads annually, maintain productive relationships with dealer group and state dealer association management, and deliver an in-person presentation to the district. The role requires effective communication, professionalism, collaboration, sound judgment, self-direction, and the ability to learn and apply federal and state automotive dealership regulations. Consultants manage accounts and document activity in Salesforce, while handling changing priorities and providing timely, practical advice to clients. The position may also include other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
