About The Position

Carvana is hiring for entry-level automotive roles at its Inspection Center in Chesterfield, Virginia. Depending on the selected position, work may include detailing vehicles through washing, interior cleaning, and exterior buffing; moving vehicles between departments; photographing vehicles for customer listings; or inspecting vehicle interiors and exteriors to identify imperfections and defects. Entry-level employees receive training programs intended to help their skills and pay progress with the company. The role uses tools in a high-tech Inspection Center and may involve exposure to hot or cold weather in a fast-paced, changing production environment.

Starting pay is $17–$18 per hour. The location offers two schedules: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; or Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs. Hiring is contingent on passing a background check. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, sometimes with exposure to excessive heat or cold.
• Use safety equipment as required, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
• Must pass a complete background check.

Responsibilities

• Detail vehicles, including washing, interior cleaning, and exterior buffing, depending on the selected role.
• Move vehicles from one department to another within the Inspection Center, depending on the selected role.
• Photograph vehicles for customer listings, depending on the selected role.
• Inspect vehicle interiors and exteriors and accurately identify imperfections or defects, depending on the selected role.
• Work mandatory overtime when required by business needs.
