About The Position
The Service Porter transfers vehicles between check-in, service bays, and the parking lot, and cleans new and used vehicles. The work environment ranges from slow to fast paced and includes indoor and outdoor work, potentially in inclement weather, with low to moderate noise. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required. The final candidate will undergo a criminal history background check and pre-employment drug screen. Requirements
- No prior experience or training is required.
- Must be able to operate vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including operations with two-digit numbers and multiplication and division using 10s and 100s, as well as calculations involving American money and measurements of weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to use common-sense understanding to follow detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions and resolve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stretch, kneel, stoop, crawl, climb, balance, twist, turn, handle, reach, and lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including potentially in inclement weather.
Responsibilities
- Transfer vehicles between check-in, service bays, and the parking lot.
- Clean new and used vehicles.
- Organize the lot as directed by the Sales and Service Managers.
- Service vehicles in storage to protect tires, batteries, and finishes from deterioration.
- Inspect vehicles for damage and verify that accessories listed on the invoice are present.
- Record descriptions of vehicle damage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
