Automotive Assistant Manager
About The Position
American Tire Depot is hiring an Automotive Assistant Manager for a results-focused, performance-driven team. The role supports an exceptional customer and team-member experience while helping lead daily shop operations. The Assistant Manager leads from the front, manages the guest experience, connects technicians with customers, develops the team, and helps run the business. The role covers for the Store Manager when needed and models high standards on every shift. The position offers a competitive hourly rate plus commission and overtime opportunities. Requirements
- At least 1–3 years of experience in automotive service management or retail repair leadership.
- Strong background in service sales, such as tires, brakes, maintenance, or mechanical work.
- Proven ability to lead a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 70 pounds.
- Open availability, including weekends, to lead and support the team during peak business times.
- Self-starter who thrives on results, accountability, and growth.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the shop, set the daily game plan, and keep the shop safe, clean, and efficient.
- Greet and advise guests, build estimates, explain work clearly, and close sales.
- Translate technician inspections into trusted customer recommendations.
- Coach service advisors and technicians, reinforce processes, celebrate successes, and address performance gaps.
- Manage inventory and ordering, cash handling and point-of-sale operations, scheduling, KPI tracking, and OSHA/EHS compliance.
- Cover shop operations when the Store Manager is absent and model high standards on every shift.
