About The Position

The Auto Parts Counter Professional is responsible for inside sales activity within a Parts Authority store and reports directly to the Store Manager. The role focuses on building and maintaining productive, long-lasting customer relationships, providing helpful and professional service, and closing sales to achieve goals and support business growth. The position serves customers across sectors including installers, fleets, municipalities, and car dealerships.

Parts Authority is a national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools, equipment, and transmissions, founded in 1973 and headquartered in Long Island, New York. The company has more than 300 locations and works with over 400 suppliers. Its counter professionals help customers identify suitable parts and brands and provide sales and order support.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of counter sales experience in a competitive market.
• Exceptional phone skills, with a positive, enthusiastic, and attentive tone.
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
• A commitment to exceptional customer service and exceeding sales goals.
• Ability to build and maintain lasting business relationships.
• Results-oriented approach and commitment to growth.
• Experience with POS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently to accomplish objectives.
• Outgoing, assertive, proactive, positive personality, with a can-do attitude and tenacity in pursuing goals.

Nice To Haves

• Wholesale auto parts sales experience in the aftermarket industry is preferred.
• An existing customer base is a plus.
• General automotive knowledge is preferred.
• Spanish and/or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain productive, long-lasting relationships with existing customers.
