The Technician Trainee is trained through hands-on and classroom instruction to become a proficient auto glass technician. After completing the training program, the trainee receives Safelite SafeTech certification and develops the fundamental skills to perform glass repair, replacement, and recalibrations without supervision. The role calls for a can-do attitude, a caring heart, and a service mindset, with a focus on timely, high-quality work and positive customer experiences. The trainee learns and apprentices the Safelite approach by observing and assisting with auto glass installation and repair, recalibrating vehicle safety systems, troubleshooting and diagnostic testing, and providing additional services and products. The position requires safe operation of company and customer vehicles and safe use of company-issued tools and chemicals. Other duties may be assigned, and employees must comply with company policies and standards. The role includes paid training, tools and resources, competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25 per hour and increasing to $24.00 per hour after training and certification, and the opportunity to earn additional income from customer-selected products and services. Advancement may be possible during the first year based on performance metrics for efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. The benefits package is described as valued at more than $10,000 and includes a 401(k) with company matching, medical plans, paid time off, holidays, volunteer days, an option to buy additional PTO or sell up to 16 unused hours, and up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement.
