Auto Body Tech - Town and Country Toyota
About The Position
Town and Country Toyota, a Sonic Automotive family dealership, is hiring an Auto Body Tech. The role performs vehicle repair work according to repair orders, diagnoses malfunctions, and completes needed repairs. The technician coordinates with the Parts Department, inspects vehicles for additional safety or service needs, and advises the Body Shop Manager when further work is required. The position also includes documenting completed work, keeping customer vehicles clean, attending factory-sponsored training, staying current on technical bulletins, and following applicable regulations and company safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of automotive experience.
- Authorization to work in the USA.
- Perform duties and responsibilities safely.
- Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, drug test, and credit report; valid driver license.
Nice To Haves
- ASE certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform work listed on repair orders efficiently and accurately.
- Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
- Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
- Examine vehicles to determine whether additional safety or service work is required.
- Advise the Body Shop Manager when additional work is needed.
- Document all work performed as soon as the job is completed.
- Use basic mathematical skills to solve simple equations for mixing chemicals.
- Attend factory-sponsored training classes and stay current on factory technical bulletins.
- Follow federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous-waste disposal requirements.
- Keep customer cars clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report accidents to a manager or supervisor.
