About The Position

Carvana is hiring an experienced automotive bodywork technician to perform extensive repairs across multiple vehicle panels and train other autobody technicians. The work takes place in a high-tech vehicle Inspection Center and includes heavy plastic welding and stapling; heavy metal pulling, straightening, shrinking, and stud welding; roof and rocker panel repair; and large-area heavy bodywork, including Bondo repair. The role requires at least five years of professional automotive bodywork experience. Candidates must be able to work mandatory overtime when business needs require it and operate in a fast-paced production environment that may involve exposure to heat or cold. Hiring is contingent on passing a background check. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least five years of professional automotive bodywork experience.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, sometimes with exposure to excessive heat or cold.
Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

Train other autobody technicians.
Perform extensive bodywork on multiple panels, including heavy plastic welding and stapling.
Perform heavy metal pulling, straightening, shrinking, and stud welding.
Repair roofs and rocker panels.
Perform large-area heavy bodywork, including Bondo repair.
Work mandatory overtime when required by business needs.
