About The Position

Carvana is hiring an experienced autobody technician to perform extensive bodywork on multiple vehicle panels and train other autobody technicians. Work takes place in a high-tech vehicle Inspection Center using state-of-the-art tools. The role is scheduled Monday through Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with potential overtime on Fridays. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs.

The position pays $33–$41 per hour and offers an $8,000 bonus. Carvana describes itself as a fast-growing used automotive retailer and operates vehicle Reconditioning Centers where cars are inspected, repaired, and photographed before being listed for sale. Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional automotive bodywork experience.
• Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, sometimes exposed to excessive heat or cold.
• Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Pass a complete background check.

Responsibilities

• Train other autobody technicians.
• Perform extensive bodywork on multiple panels.
• Perform heavy plastic welding and stapling.
• Perform heavy metal pulling, straightening, shrinking, and stud welding.
• Repair roofs and rocker panels.
• Perform large-area heavy bodywork, including Bondo repair.
• Work mandatory overtime when required by business needs.
