About The Position
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Authentic African Cuisine Cook to prepare traditional African dishes and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of African cooking techniques, ingredients, spices, and recipes, and be committed to providing an exceptional dining experience for our customers.
Requirements
- Previous experience preparing authentic African cuisine required.
- Knowledge of traditional African ingredients, spices, and cooking methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Ability to follow recipes and portion controls accurately.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be available to work flexible part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Culinary training or certification preferred.
- Experience working in a restaurant, catering, or commercial kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food cost control and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic African dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure proper food preparation, cooking, storage, and handling procedures.
- Maintain consistency in flavor, quality, and presentation of all menu items.
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Follow all food safety and health regulations.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of new authentic African dishes.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with management and team members.
