About The Position

The Audio Technician supports Silver Dollar City’s live entertainment experiences by ensuring exceptional sound quality for shows, special events, and daily entertainment offerings. This role creates memorable guest experiences by delivering reliable, safe, and professional audio support.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Four years of previous experience or bachelor's degree.
  • Working knowledge of digital audio consoles, microphones, monitor systems, playback software, and PA systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively under pressure.
  • Commitment to teamwork, guest focus, and the company’s mission of creating memories worth repeating.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Experience mixing live audio in a theatrical, concert, or entertainment setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate audio consoles (digital and analog) for live performances, festivals, and special events.
  • Perform sound checks, mix live audio for performers, and adjust audio levels throughout shows.
  • Troubleshoot audio issues quickly and effectively to maintain show quality and guest satisfaction.
  • Set up microphones, monitors, speakers, DI boxes, playback systems, and related audio equipment.
  • Maintain, clean, and store equipment according to departmental standards.
  • Assist with cabling, patching, and routing audio signals.
  • Identify and report equipment repair needs; assist with basic repairs when appropriate.
  • Work alongside stage managers, performers, technicians, and leadership to ensure smooth show operations.
  • Attend rehearsals and production meetings as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with teammates and performers.
  • Support other technical areas (lighting, staging, video) when needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
