About The Position

The Modern Pantry Attendant provides superior service to internal and external customers and performs Counter Attendant duties to help ensure the efficient operation of Modern Pantry. The role requires customer-service skills, effective communication, attention to safety and sanitation, and the ability to move around the food service area, carry food orders, stock supplies, and bus tables. The working environment may involve varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke depending on customer volume.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees at all levels.
• Ability to observe and direct the actions of subordinates and inspect and maintain assigned areas.
• Ability to distinguish between denominations of currency and make change.
• Ability to review and comprehend necessary documentation.
• Ability to move around the food service area effectively and efficiently.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cashiering, counter-service, or quick-service operations.
• Stable work history required.
• Skills typically acquired through on-the-job experience in a snack bar or similar food service setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service and respond resiliently to difficult customers while working harmoniously with coworkers.
• Inspect areas of responsibility for safety and maintenance needs and take action as needed.
• Open and close outlets according to established procedures to ensure sanitation and protect company assets.
• Communicate operating issues to the Lead and/or supervisor or manager.
• Monitor operating and cleaning supply needs and maintain par levels.
• Perform Counter Attendant duties to support efficient operation of Modern Pantry.
• Carry food orders, stock supplies, and bus tables.
