About The Position

Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is hiring Attendant Care Employees (ACE) in Derry, New Hampshire, to provide compassionate support to consumers and promote their independence. The role provides in-home care and assistance with activities of daily living, household tasks, mobility, medication reminders, and errands in the community. Schedules are flexible, range from 30 or more hours per week, and are set by consumers. This is a per diem position paying $22.00 per hour.

GSIL is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its services focus on education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. GSIL delivers its mission through Home Care Services, Community-Based Disability Supports, and Employment Services, with an emphasis on personal choice and direction.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
• Must have adequate car insurance, if applicable.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
• Provide in-home care.
• Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
• Do laundry, prepare meals, perform housekeeping, and help with organization.
• Assist with ambulation and transfers.
• Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
• Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
• Provide community support, including running errands.
