About The Position

This application is for on-call employment opportunities in the HutchCC Athletics Department and is open to students and non-students. On-call employees may assist with athletic events, facility preparation, concessions, ticketing, game-day operations, live streaming, and other duties as assigned. Work hours vary according to departmental needs and scheduled events; regular weekly hours are not guaranteed. Specific opportunities include Game Operations, Live Stream, Concessions, Ticket Taker, and Line Judge. Duties vary by assignment. Game Operations staff set up and break down event equipment. Live Stream staff operate cameras, tripods, audio equipment, and cabling, and set up and take down event equipment. Concessions and Ticket Taker staff handle money, give accurate change, process digital payments, and provide customer service; concessions staff must also follow food-handling guidelines established by the Kansas Department of Health and Human Resources. Volleyball Line Judges watch court boundaries and signal whether a ball lands in or out. Employees are expected to follow HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices; arrive on time for scheduled or accepted shifts; communicate availability and scheduling conflicts promptly; complete assigned responsibilities professionally, safely, and on time; provide courteous service; and perform other duties as assigned. Some assignments may involve travel or adverse weather conditions.

Requirements

Must be a neat and clean individual and portray a positive image to students, staff, and community members.
Ability to cooperate with students and college personnel.
For Game Operations, safely push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, climb, walk, carry, and regularly lift up to 25 pounds; possess sufficient eye/hand/foot coordination to operate equipment and tools and perform other necessary physical activities.
For Live Stream and Concessions, safely push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, walk, carry, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds; possess sufficient eye/hand/foot coordination to operate equipment and tools and perform other necessary physical activities.
For Ticket Taker, safely push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, walk, carry, and regularly lift up to 25 pounds; possess sufficient eye/hand/foot coordination to operate equipment and tools and perform other necessary physical activities.
For Line Judge, safely push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, walk, carry, and regularly lift; possess sufficient eye/hand/foot coordination to operate equipment and tools and perform other necessary physical activities.
For Concessions, follow food-handling guidelines established by the Kansas Department of Health and Human Resources.
For Line Judge, wear clean, professional athletic clothing approved by current college officiating guidelines.
Some assignments may involve working in adverse weather or other adverse conditions; Line Judge assignments may involve possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissue, and communicable disease.
The stated qualifications are guidelines for selection; alternative qualifications may be substituted if sufficient to successfully perform the duties.

Responsibilities

Arrive on time when scheduled or when an accepted on-call shift has been assigned, and attend work regularly.
Communicate promptly with the supervisor about availability, scheduling conflicts, or inability to work an accepted shift.
Complete assigned responsibilities professionally, safely, and in a timely manner.
Provide courteous and professional service to students, employees, visitors, officials, and members of the public.
For Game Operations assignments, set up and break down equipment required for events and assist other employees as needed.
For Live Stream assignments, operate cameras, tripods, audio equipment, and cabling; set up and take down event equipment; and be flexible for travel.
For Concessions assignments, handle money, accurately disperse change, process digital payments, follow food-handling guidelines, multitask, and provide customer service.
For Ticket Taker assignments, handle money, accurately disperse change, process digital payments, multitask, and provide customer service.
For Line Judge assignments, watch volleyball court boundaries and signal whether a ball lands in or out.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the relevant supervisor or department.
