About The Position

Rainier Prep is seeking a School Coach to help develop a positive, inclusive, and competitive middle school athletics program. The coach will teach fundamental skills, foster teamwork and sportsmanship, and support student-athletes’ growth on and off the field. Rainier Prep’s sports include boys’ and girls’ soccer, boys’ and girls’ basketball, and girls’ volleyball.

This is a temporary, stipend position for a season of approximately nine weeks. The stipend is $1,500 for the season. The start date depends on the timing of practices and games and the candidate’s immediate availability. Candidates must complete required school background checks and onboarding.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Must complete required school background checks.
• Commitment to the full season schedule, including practices and weekend games.

Nice To Haves

• Previous playing and/or coaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct practices, scheduled twice a week, and support one game per weekend.
• Provide individual and small-group instruction to improve athletes’ technical and tactical skills.
• Help manage game-day responsibilities, including warm-ups, substitutions, and sideline support.
• Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among players.
• Ensure player safety and adherence to school and athletic program policies.
• Support communication among players, parents, and the Head Coach as needed.
• Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
• Commit to the full season schedule, including practices and weekend games.
