About The Position

Aspire Public Schools is seeking a Volleyball Athletics Coach at Aspire Lionel Wilson College Preparatory Academy. The coach will provide students with a high-quality, personalized athletic experience while upholding Aspire Public Schools’ mission and values. The role supports a school culture of high expectations and college preparation, promotes student engagement, and works with students, families, colleagues, and school administration to support athletic participation and student progress. The position pays $22.28 per hour.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience coaching high school teams.
Knowledge of the sport being coached and league interaction.
Ability and willingness to reflect and improve.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community.
Demonstrated success with prior coaching.
High school diploma.
Relevant experience coaching interscholastic athletic teams.
At least 2 years working with students as a high school athletics coach.

Responsibilities

Organize and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged.
Support a school-wide culture of high expectations that includes college preparation for all students.
Ensure athletes comply with Aspire and BASCALS eligibility requirements, including scholastic, disciplinary, and attendance eligibility.
Work with administration to ensure compliance with school policies and practices.
Provide students and their families with regular and timely information about athletics activities and student progress, and find ways to involve parents and guardians in students’ athletic experience.
Exhibit fiduciary responsibility with equipment and monies.
Demonstrate knowledge of and support for Aspire Public Schools’ mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior.
