Athletics Coach- Volleyball

About The Position

Aspire Public Schools is seeking a part-time Volleyball Coach at Aspire Lionel Wilson College Preparatory Academy. The coach provides students with a high-quality, personalized athletic experience while upholding Aspire Public Schools’ mission and values. Aspire operates college-preparatory charter schools serving TK–12 scholars across California, with a purpose of preparing students for success in college, career, and life. The coach organizes and manages student behavior to support full engagement, promotes high expectations and college preparation, and ensures athletes meet Aspire and BASCALS scholastic, disciplinary, and attendance eligibility requirements. The role works with school administration on policy compliance, communicates regularly with students and families about athletics and student progress, and seeks ways to involve parents and guardians. The coach also demonstrates responsible stewardship of equipment and funds and supports Aspire’s mission, values, policies, procedures, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior. The position pays $22.28 per hour. Requirements

High school diploma.
Relevant experience coaching interscholastic athletic teams.
At least 2 years working with students as a high school athletics coach.
Knowledge and experience coaching high school teams.
Knowledge of the sport being coached and league interaction.
Demonstrated success with prior coaching.
Ability and willingness to reflect and improve.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities

Organize and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged.
Support a school-wide culture of high expectations that includes college preparation for all students.
Ensure athletes comply with Aspire and BASCALS eligibility requirements, including scholastic, disciplinary, and attendance eligibility.
Work with administration to ensure compliance with school policies and practices.
Provide students and families with regular and timely information about athletics activities and student progress.
Find ways to involve parents and guardians in students’ athletic experience.
Demonstrate fiduciary responsibility with equipment and monies.
Demonstrate knowledge of and support for Aspire Public Schools’ mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior.
