About The Position

Aspire Public Schools is seeking a part-time basketball coach at Aspire College Triumph Academy. The Athletics Coach provides students with a high-quality, personalized athletic experience while upholding Aspire Public Schools’ mission and values. Aspire operates college-preparatory charter schools serving TK–12 scholars across California and aims to prepare students for success in college, career, and life.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Relevant experience coaching interscholastic athletic teams.
• At least 2 years working with students as a high school athletics coach.
• Knowledge and experience coaching high school teams.
• Knowledge of the sport being coached and league interaction.
• Demonstrated success with prior coaching.
• Ability and willingness to reflect and improve.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged.
• Support a school-wide culture of high expectations that includes college preparation for all students.
• Ensure athletes comply with Aspire and BASCALS eligibility requirements, including scholastic, disciplinary, and attendance eligibility.
• Work with administration to ensure compliance with school policies and practices.
• Provide students and families with regular, timely information about athletic activities and student progress, and find ways to involve parents and guardians in students’ athletic experience.
• Demonstrate fiduciary responsibility with equipment and monies.
• Support Aspire Public Schools’ mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior.
