About The Position

Aspire Public Schools is seeking a part-time Soccer Coach at Aspire Lionel Wilson College Preparatory Academy. The coach provides students with a high-quality, personalized athletic experience while upholding Aspire Public Schools’ mission and values. Aspire operates college-preparatory charter schools serving TK–12 scholars across California, with a purpose of preparing students for success in college, career, and life. The Athletics Coach organizes and manages student behavior, supports a school-wide culture of high expectations and college preparation, and ensures athletes meet Aspire and BASCALS eligibility requirements. The role works with school administration, communicates regularly with students and families about athletic activities and student progress, encourages family involvement, and takes responsible care of equipment and funds. Coaches are expected to support Aspire’s mission, policies, procedures, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior. The pay rate for coaches is $22.28 per hour. Requirements

Knowledge and experience coaching high school teams.
Knowledge of the sport being coached and league interaction.
Ability and willingness to reflect and improve.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community.
Demonstrated success with prior coaching.
High school diploma.
Relevant experience coaching interscholastic athletic teams.
At least 2 years working with students as a high school athletics coach.

Responsibilities

Organize and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged.
Support a school-wide culture of high expectations that includes college preparation for all students.
Ensure athletes comply with Aspire and BASCALS eligibility requirements, including scholastic, disciplinary, and attendance eligibility.
Work with administration to ensure compliance with school policies and practices.
Provide students and families with regular and timely information about athletic activities and student progress, and find ways to involve parents and guardians in students’ athletic experience.
Demonstrate fiduciary responsibility with equipment and monies.
Demonstrate knowledge of and support Aspire Public Schools’ mission, vision, values, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior.
