About The Position

The After School Soccer Coach provides engaging soccer classes for students in Grades K–3 at elementary schools across the Bay Area. Coaches and assistant coaches teach using provided lesson plans and help inspire young learners to enjoy soccer. No previous soccer teaching experience is required. Classes are 1–1.5 hours long and take place between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Coaches work two or more days per week, for a maximum of 2–5 hours per week, and must be available in the Bay Area. The position is part-time and in person. Candidates must be local to the US or already have the necessary work visa; the employer does not provide visa assistance.

Requirements

• Be at least 19 years old when applying.
• Enjoy working with children and have effective classroom management skills.
• Be flexible, reliable, punctual, and professional, with an enthusiastic approach.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have a resilient, positive attitude.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Have reliable transportation throughout the East Bay, South Bay, and Peninsula.
• Be willing to undergo a live scan background check before working.
• Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Nice To Haves

• Previous soccer teaching or playing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage classes of 8–16 students, ages 5–10.
• Teach soccer classes using provided lesson plans.
• Attend a two-day training and shadowing session.
• Transport soccer equipment to and from class and set up equipment.
• Take attendance and sign students in and out.
• Interact with parents and school office staff as needed.
• Provide feedback for each student by the end of the session.
• Take a few pictures of students in action during each session.
