About The Position

The Athletics Events and Facilities Assistant is a part-time position responsible for assisting the Internal Operations Coordinator and/or the Events and Facilities division. The role assists with game day operations and supervises the weight room and equipment room.

The student-worker develops communication skills through interactions with fellow students, coaches, athletic department staff, spectators, and campus community members. The role also involves collaborating with student-workers and athletic department staff, sharing responsibilities according to schedules and interests, and helping ensure shifts are covered and work is completed to a high standard.

Work takes place indoors and outdoors in a busy university setting. The schedule varies depending on the number of events, with responsibilities predominantly during evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• Must be a current student at Gannon University.
• Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds and meet the physical demands of the position.
• Must be able to follow instructions and work independently to achieve outlined goals.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to operate a washer and dryer.
• Hiring preference will be given to students eligible for Federal Work Study; continued employment may be contingent on maintaining Federal Work Study eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with game day operations.
• Assist the Internal Operations Coordinator and/or the Events and Facilities division.
• Supervise the varsity weight room during weekend and open weight room hours.
• Work collaboratively with student-workers and athletic department staff and help ensure shifts are covered.
• Follow instructions and work independently to achieve outlined goals.
• Operate a washer and dryer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
