About The Position

Visiting Angels of Bryan is hiring At Home Caregivers to serve clients throughout the Central Texas area, including Brenham, Bellville, Somerville, Whitman, Wilcox, Snook, and College Station. Caregivers enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with individualized care plans. Shifts may be in clients’ homes or in facilities, depending on location. Flexible scheduling, competitive wages, growth opportunities, and advanced training in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care are offered.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid and emergency-response training; training is provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
• Physical endurance to carry groceries and physically support clients.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
