About The Position

Visiting Angels of Bryan is hiring At Home Caregivers to serve clients throughout Central Texas, including Hearne, Bryan, College Station, Brenham, Madisonville, Huntsville, Caldwell, and other areas. Caregivers enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with individualized care plans. Work may take place in clients’ homes or facilities, depending on location. Flexible schedules and full-time and part-time hours are available. The role may begin immediately. Visiting Angels offers opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care for caregivers who want to broaden their skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management skills and the ability to handle multiple duties at once.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
• Ability and willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including background checks.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten each client’s day.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with client mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
