About The Position

Visiting Angels of Lufkin is hiring At Home Caregivers to serve clients throughout the Deep East Texas area, including Crockett, Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Berea, Pennington, and Groveton. Caregivers support clients’ quality of life and wellness in accordance with individualized care plans. The role offers flexible schedules, competitive wages, and growth opportunities. Advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care are available to caregivers seeking to broaden their skills. The position may be offered full time or part time, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle to transport clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
Reliable transportation to travel to and from client homes at scheduled times.
Physical endurance for carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, such as background checks.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients.
Perform light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
